Ks-band secondary eclipses of WASP-19b and WASP-43b with the Anglo-Australian Telescope

We report new Ks-band secondary eclipse observations for the hot-Jupiters WASP-19b and WASP-43b. Using the IRIS2 infrared camera on the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), we measured significant secondary eclipses for both planets, with depths of 0.287+0.020 −0.020 per cent and 0.181+0.027 −0.027 per cent for WASP-19b and WASP-43b, respectively. We compare the observations to atmosphere models f...

The correlation between H. pylori infection and COVID-19

SARS CoV-2 and H. pylori are pathogens associated with the most common viral and bacterial infections globally. The co-infection of pathogenic bacteria and SARS CoV-2 represented  a true health challenge. The current study aimed to estimate the incidence of H. pylori in patients with COVID-19. For this purpose, 130 patients with RT-PCR confirmed SARS CoV-2 infection as well as 130 apparently he...

Part II Eart h : the dynamic planet

I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know his thoughts, the rest are details. Overview Earth is part of the solar system and it cannot be completely understood in isolation. The chemistry of meteorites and the Sun provide constraints on the composition of the planets. The properties of the p...

The thermal emission of the exoplanet WASP-3b

We report the detection of thermal emission from the transiting hot Jupiter WASP-3b at 3.6, 4.5 and 8.0μm using the Spitzer Space Telescope. We obtain planet-to-star flux ratios of 0.209+0.040 −0.028, 0.282 ± 0.012 and 0.328+0.086 −0.055 per cent at these wavelengths, respectively, implying infrared brightness temperatures of T3.6μm = 2280+210 −150 K, T4.5μm = 2400± 80K and T8.0μm = 2210+390 −2...
